Paula Smith, Of Counsel
Paula Ferguson Smith joined Mabry & McClelland, LLP in November, 2012. She has specialized in worker’s compensation law since 1990. Ms. Smith has represented insurers and self-insurers across the State of Georgia. Ms. Smith has also been invited to speak on topics of interest to the Worker’s Compensation Section members at various bar functions and seminars.
Ms. Smith grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended college at The University of Alabama. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. While an undergraduate, Ms. Smith attended Balliol College in Oxford, England for a summer program focused on English literature. Ms. Smith attended law school at Vanderbilt University School of Law, graduating in 1988. During her law school summers, she clerked at the law firm of Reid, Ricca, & Rigell, P.C., in West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1996, She started her own practice Whiteman, Smith & Hamilton, LLP, specializing in defending worker’s compensation claims for various employers/insurers and self-insured clients. Ms. Smith was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1988 and the State Bar of Florida in 1990.
Ms. Smith is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and Florida as well as the Atlanta Bar Association and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. Ms. Smith is a dedicated runner and half-marathon enthusiast as well as a part time and unpaid Zumba instructor. She has been married for 25 years and lives in Peachtree Corners with her husband and two sons.
